Tuesday

It's Tuesday and already I'm ready for the weekend. Why? I have no idea - when you're retired everyday can be weekend if you want to make it that way.

There's absolutely nothing happening here except the routine stuff. My plan was to buy plants for the borders but weather gurus are expecting a freeze early next week. I've lost enough to the freak freeze we had last May - I'm waiting. In the meantime I just won't look at the sad borders. Our big dogwood tree between the driveway and the end of the house is in full bloom.

Our cherry tree was beautiful for one day. The next night we had strong wind and rain and most of the petals were blown away.

I'm really glad the bleeding heart is blooming - I was afraid it might be damaged.

I believe the world is alive after all. And that's the good news for today.

Such beauty! I always think it's a shame that the flowering trees and spring flowers don't bloom very long. They are all so pretty.

We're so far behind you in what's blooming. The pears are still in full bloom along with the cherries. The daffodils are still blooming. The phlox are starting. No leaves on the trees yet. I can't wait for that.

A quiet night here, just watching Idol and catching up on the blogs. Enjoy your night Mary.

Wow, those are beautiful pictures. I have one pretty tree outside my window but the sky is so gray it still feels like winter. Soon....

Hi Mary, thanks so much for stopping by my blog. It's nice to meet a fellow traveler! Your photos are lovely. I hope you don't get that freeze next week. If you do, please don't send it our way!

I would like to dig around in my little garden and plant a little, but you know the rule around here, nothing before Mother's Day. Even if it doesn't freeze, they never seem to do well until after that day.

It's seemed like a short season for the flowering trees. I always have to wait for all the petals to fall before mulching. With the wind we're having, it won't be long. I can't wait to see the dogwoods. I miss the one I had. I made the mistake of planting it too close to the house and had to pay to take it down. Now I just enjoy the ones I see from afar.

We're still weeks away from planting time. We've had a few warm days but tomorrow the cold comes back. Oh well!

Tomorrow's Sunday. Enjoy! I'm going to make veal scallopini. It was marked down for quick sale. I'll tell Emily it's chicken. Don't tell.
