Priority One - Complete

Back to school clothes are in house and kid approved - I should say:"Kid selected and Mommy approved." My way of dealing with this task is to take the boys into the store and tell them to select a certain number of shirts from this rack and that one over there. Now select your pants and shorts from these racks. We tell them the number (size) that fits them and let them shop. They are in a frenzy for a few minutes and then it begins to get old to them. That's when Mommy and Nana step in and make the rest of the selections with approval from the boys. It works really well. Mommy makes the decision and each boy thinks that he made all the decisions - and for the most part they are correct. The boys selected Taco Bell for lunch - the decision had something to do with certain cars that are in the kid's meal. No food was wasted, though.

Shopping was a success and now is history. Next comes shoes, undies, socks, and school supplies. The boys have to participate in the shoe deal but otherwise they won't have to get involved. All is well that ends well.

That's the end for today. Tomorrow is another sunrise. No plans but still lots to do.

Shopping day sounds like an all-around success. And fun too. When does school start? It's Aug. 26th here.

Jesse's first day is Aug 6th. Jame's is Aug 11th.

It's the pits to begin school in early August, but such is life in Huntsville, AL.

Good stradegy there, and I'm glad all is happy. School starts early here too, probably that same week. Seems like they hardly have a summer. Haleigh in Washington didn't get out until the middle of June and won't go back until Sept. That's the way it used to be here too. Now it's still so hot that it's hard to buy new school clothes because they start off in shorts!

Wow I was about to say you really got your shopping finished early when I noticed when your school starts! Oh My Gosh! That is EARLY. Now I understand why you went shopping. A job well-done!

Its really a good idea to take kids on school supplies shopping.

I still find it odd that I do not have to go "school shopping" any more. One of the hardest and longest things to get used to ,as an empty nester:)

Sounds like you all had fun. It's only fun until they hit their teens. LOL

Happy Tuesday!

Mary, you are such an angel for doing that school clothes shopping. It's hard to believe Summer is almost gone, isn't it?

Happy Tuesday!

That seems awfully early for back to school. I remember when I was a kid we always went back the day after Labor Day!!

A great method to the madness. :-)

School starts back early here in GA. What ever happened to getting out of school the Friday before Memorial Day and starting the day after Labor Day?

That's pretty much how my Mom used to do it. But she held the final veto power over anything too wild.
