Another Long Day

It is another hot sultry day here in NE Alabama. The sun is hot, the grass is turning brown, the fig tree is shedding its fruit, and the fire (forest) alert is now red. I know most folks who read this blog hate the snow and ice of winter but, believe me, the sweltering heat is no pleasure either. OK, the weather and my rant about how uncomfortable it is done. Now on to other items.

Today is our 9th anniversary. We met on Oct 23, 1998 and were married on 1 July 2000. Harry said it was a good time for a wedding because he’d always be able to remember our anniversary. We both forgot until this morning when the reminder came up on my computer calendar. We are just sliding through the day with smiles for each other and lots of “I love you’s.” We’re old farts – what can I say.

Today was also the day I went for a full discussion with my surgeon regarding my lab reports. The lymph nodes are clear. However there is a problem with the tissue margin that removed the tumor. So – hi-ho, hi-ho, it’s back to surgery I go. Dang it this really messes up my plans. This surgery will be to remove a wider margin and also take a shallow part of muscle. We knew this cancer was deep and near the chest wall so no surprises there.

I have to admit that I’m a bit depressed today. By tomorrow I’ll have my attitude adjustment in place and be ready to move on. I’m still a very blessed and lucky old gal. I’ll post again soon. If it’s a couple of days don’t think that I’ve gone into a major slump. That just ain’t me.

I truly appreciate everyone’s concern and prayers.

Oh so sorry you have to go in for more surgery. My prayers for all of you continue!!
Happy Anniversary!! I didn't realize that you and Harry had been married so recently. I thought you've been together years and years.
It's still nice and green around here. We have had lots of rain this year.
Hang in there Mary. I'll be thinking about you.

Happy Anniversary!

I'm so glad you got a good report on the lymph nodes. I really sorry you will have to have more surgery. That happened to a friend from church. I will continue to pray for you.

Darn. I really thought they got all the bad margins. So, when do you go back in? Soon, I hope so it can all be over and you can get back to enjoying the weather. Ha! So you can get back to living a regular life!

This is tough Mary. More surgery is never a pleasant prospect. Hopefully they will get it scheduled quickly and this will be the end of the operations. You are in my thoughts..

Sue.

Mary, you're constantly in my thoughts and prayers. Thank God they have the ability to find this stuff and remove it before any more damage can be done...the angels will be with you...have faith. Big hugs and try and rest easy.

Thank you one and all. I really appreciate the concern shown by my blogging friends. Your prayers and good thoughts have carried me through this ordeal and will continue to carry me through the next one.

Happyone: Both Harry and I had been alone for several years when we met. We feel like we've been together always. If you watched our children together you'd never guess they weren't raised together. There's never conflict and each thinks of the others as brothers and sister. A rare blessing.

Ricky: I certainly applaud the marriage you two have. I know your scars are self induced. Anyone with Claudia's smile is too gentle to scar.

Tee, Cheryl, and Florida Sue: Surgery is set for Saturday, July 11. My surgeon cancelled a family trip to be here to do my surgery at the earliest time. I have a better attitude today. I'll be fine - just think of the stories I'll have to tell when this is over.

heya LBF--
always a day late and a dollar short.
first of all.. "happy" anniversary! i thought you had been married longer than that too. but it won't be long before y'all are lookin back on your twentieth.

and dammit that they didn't get it all the first time. when they did mine, the shot blue dye in there, and did some kind of x-ray or scan, before i was out of O.R. to be sure it was all out. it was.
it's gotta be awful for you to have to even think of goin thru that stuff again. i'll keep on prayin for ya .. they'll get it all this time.

hugs to you-
