Oldies But Goodies

It's been a long trek but I'm beginning to see results - albeit small results. Last evening the upholstery shop brought my 42-year-old sofa home all gussied up in her new dress. She may be out of style but I love her because she is so comfy and the perfect place for my naps.
My mother's and father's favorite chairs are even older. They are also sporting new duds. This is one of the two - my mother's. Is anyone old enough to remember the fad of "Mr and Mrs" chairs? Well, these are still in service. Perfect reading chairs.
The room will look better when everything is back in place. Still a lot of work to do, but when I begin to see progress it's easier to keep plowing through the project.
Not much else to write about. Hope everyone has a happy day.

I'm in the process of looking for new living room furniture. BOY! do I wish I could find furniture like that out there now. The stuff the sell now just doen't compare.

They did a great job recovering them. Enjoy!

The sofa look really good. When you get a comfortable piece of furniture you best keep recycling, because most of what you find today is, should I say, junk. It looks like it's so comfortable amd a great place for a nap.

I can not believe you have a 42 year old couch. It looks fabulous. They just don't make things like they used to. Nothing we own now would last 42 years.
Mr. and Mrs. chairs always make me think of Archie and Edith Bunker :)

Happy Friday!

As soon as I retired (June of 07) I began ripping down wallpaper, and then, of course, re-surfacing walls. I loved doing it, however. Moreso standing back and looking at the difference(s) is such a motivator!
PS Thanks for visiting my blog and for your kind comment.

Absolutely gorgeous! You were wise to keep both of them and have them reupholstered. The furniture out now is ugly as far as I'm concerned. I had to purchase a new couch and chair about 3 years ago and even though they look like they're made well, I really don't like them as much as the sectional that they replaced. I'm always keeping my eye out for something else and have found the only things that catch my eye cost a FORTUNE!
